"i know how you feel" is a statement that is tossed around nowdays without careful thought. When people say this, they are generally just trying to comfort you, without thinking about what they are actually saying. Sometimes, they might have been in a similar situation, however they do not know how you feel. Everyone expieriences issues differently, with mixed feelings on the subject that are completely their own. Occasionally though, you meet someone who you yourself believes that they actually DO know. They understand perfectly, and people like this do not come around very often ;)
